'Sunhakun Anseongtangmyeon' Launched
Enhanced Umami with Chicken Broth Without Using Red Pepper Powder
Nongshim has launched ‘Sunhagun Anseongtangmyeon,’ a mild-flavored ramen, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its popular ramen ‘Anseongtangmyeon.’
Sunhagun Anseongtangmyeon contains no red pepper powder, resulting in a Scoville rating of 0 and no spiciness at all. Additionally, chicken broth is added to enhance the umami flavor. The savory soybean paste and beef broth that define the original Anseongtangmyeon are complemented by the chicken broth, creating a deeper and richer soup taste.
Anseongtangmyeon is a ‘hit product’ launched by Nongshim in 1983, with cumulative sales reaching 16 billion units. With annual sales of 120 billion KRW, it has joined the ranks of ‘mega brands’ (single products with annual sales exceeding 100 billion KRW). Nongshim attributes Anseongtangmyeon’s sustained popularity to its wide versatility, as it pairs well with any added ingredients.
Anseongtangmyeon is also actively engaging with the younger generation, who value experiences. Starting this month, to commemorate its 40th anniversary, Nongshim is operating a nationwide touring ‘Mobility Anseongtangmyeon Pop-up Store.’ Visitors can explore the 40-year history of Anseongtangmyeon and enjoy various interactive contents.
