KCC Participates in Chosun and Marine Exhibition 'KOMARINE 2023'

KCC Participates in Chosun and Marine Exhibition 'KOMARINE 2023' At 'Komarine 2023' held at BEXCO in Busan, KCC executives and employees are explaining ship coatings and related products to customers.

On the 26th, KCC announced that it will participate in the international shipbuilding and marine industry exhibition 'KORMARINE 2023,' held at BEXCO in Busan from the 24th to the 27th.

Since its first participation in 2009, this marks KCC's sixth time attending. KCC has set up a booth of approximately 72㎡ at Hall 4, Booth 4S03 at BEXCO, Busan, to introduce its ship coating technologies and products to domestic and international clients. At this exhibition, in line with the strengthening environmental regulations on ships such as greenhouse gas emission restrictions, KCC will mainly showcase its silicone antifouling coating MetaCruise NS (Neo Silicone) and solvent low-content coatings (High Solid Products).

MetaCruise NS is a high-performance silicone resin-based antifouling coating launched this year. It reduces friction resistance on the hull surface, improving fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions of ships. Since its release in June, it has been applied to vessels of MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company), the world's largest container shipping company, and is scheduled to be applied to an additional 23 vessels in Southern and Northern Europe. As inquiries from various domestic and international shipowners continue, it has been the most popular product at the exhibition.

The solvent low-content coatings (High Solid Products) minimize the content of volatile organic compounds (VOC), one of the causes of atmospheric environmental problems. These environmentally friendly products are designed to comply with Korea's Atmospheric Environment Conservation Act while exhibiting excellent anti-corrosion performance and workability. KCC's solvent low-content coatings have enhanced quality reliability by obtaining quality certificates compliant with IMO (International Maritime Organization) PSPC standards from major classification societies. Currently, they are applied to more than 140 vessels.

As a leading company in inorganic insulation materials, KCC also introduces insulation materials used for fire resistance and thermal insulation of ships. The ship insulation materials, including mineral wool, cerawool, and glass wool, are certified for quality, performance, and safety by domestic (KS), Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS), and European Union certification (CE) and other international accredited organizations.

Along with product displays, a technical seminar showcasing high-performance ship coatings demanded by the domestic and international shipbuilding and shipping industries and environmentally friendly industry trends was prepared. The seminar, themed on eco-friendly and future technologies, was held for about an hour the previous day at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2, Room 122. Many domestic and international shipyard and shipowner representatives interested in ship coating technology trends attended.

A KCC official stated, "This exhibition was a meaningful time to communicate directly with major domestic and international ship-related customers, introduce our products and technologies, and receive feedback," adding, "We plan to accelerate promotional and marketing activities so that customers can widely access and apply KCC's environmentally friendly ship coatings and related products."

Meanwhile, KORMARINE is one of the world's top five shipbuilding equipment exhibitions where new technologies, cutting-edge equipment, and new products in shipbuilding, offshore plants, and marine energy can be seen at a glance. This year, about 900 companies from over 40 countries worldwide participated.
