Food products made with freshly harvested rice can be found at 7-Eleven stores nationwide, and the company plans to introduce a 'New Rice Mark' on all products made with newly harvested rice, including lunch boxes, kimbap, triangular kimbap, and sushi, starting from the 31st.
7-Eleven uses premium Samgwangmi rice, selected as the highest quality by the Rural Development Administration. The company explained that it insists on using only a single variety of rice that is not mixed with other strains to maintain the best rice flavor. Additionally, they use rice milled within three days to cook the rice, ensuring that customers can enjoy the taste of freshly cooked rice even in convenience store lunch boxes.
Kim Ha-young, MD of the 7-Eleven Food Team, said, "7-Eleven carefully selects high-quality rice to ensure that all ready-to-eat products offer the taste of freshly cooked rice, and we make various efforts such as introducing newly harvested rice every rice harvest season. We will continue to focus on quality management so that convenience store lunch boxes can establish themselves not just as a convenient meal but as a properly high-quality dining option."
