Drunk Driver Performing Stunt Driving Caught After Citizen Report
On the 23rd, the Jangheung Police Station in Jeonnam seized a vehicle owned by Mr. A (40), who is under investigation for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
According to the police on the 25th, Mr. A is suspected of driving under the influence for about 55 km from Muan, Jeonnam to Jangheung-eup, Jangheung-gun, at around 2:58 a.m. on the 21st.
The police responded to a report stating, "There is a person crossing the center line and zigzag driving towards Jangheung."
The informant, Mr. B (42), who was traveling from Gangjin to Jangheung, noticed Mr. A’s vehicle and, finding it suspicious, chased and helped apprehend him.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.092%, which corresponds to license cancellation.
Notably, this is the seventh time Mr. A has been caught for drunk driving since 2001.
The police judged that Mr. A has a high likelihood of reoffending and decided to seize his vehicle.
