Held Over Two Days on the 28th and 29th
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City will operate the 'Social Economy Sharing Market' for two days on the 28th and 29th in front of the food court on the 3rd floor of the Lotte Premium Outlet in Icheon to promote and expand sales of social economy enterprise products within the city.
'Social economy enterprises' refer to companies or organizations that prioritize the happiness of all community members and pursue social values through economic activities by addressing issues such as inequality, wealth disparity, environmental destruction, and social problems, while seeking social innovation. This includes social enterprises, village enterprises, cooperatives, and self-support enterprises.
The event will feature participation from village enterprises and cooperatives, where visitors can see and directly purchase various items such as naturally dyed scarves and handkerchiefs from the village enterprise ‘Eoreumbakgol Jjokbit Maeul,’ cotton quilts and pillows from ‘Kojam Cooperative,’ ceramic accessories and daily-use ceramics from the ‘Icheon Ceramic Craft Business Cooperative,’ and seasoned seaweed and stone laver from the ‘Korea Anshim Gift Social Cooperative.’
An official from Icheon City stated, "Through this flea market event held with the cooperation of Lotte Outlet, we plan to continuously contribute to increasing income and expanding sales channels for small-scale social economy enterprises in the city," adding, "We hope more citizens will join in spreading and practicing social values such as creating jobs for vulnerable groups."
