Daesang Hosts '2023 Sarang Nanum Bazaar'
Up to 70% Off on Leading Brands like Cheongjeongwon and Jongga
All Proceeds and Remaining Items Donated to Food Banks
"These days, with the rising prices, I usually feel frustrated every time I go shopping, but today, looking at the price tags, I felt glad instead of sighing. It's not easy to donate separately on a regular basis, but since this is a meaningful event, I happily purchased items thinking of it as participating in a donation."
On the 25th, citizens are purchasing bazaar items at the '2023 Love Sharing Bazaar' held at the Daesang Group headquarters plaza in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
On the 25th, Daesang Group held the ‘2023 Love Sharing Bazaar’ at its headquarters plaza in Inui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. The Love Sharing Bazaar, which started in 2006, is an event organized by Daesang Group to alleviate the household burdens of local residents and to carry out public interest activities linked with the local community. This year marks its 18th anniversary. The proceeds and leftover items from the bazaar are donated to organizations such as the Korea Forest Welfare Institute and the Korea National Council on Social Welfare’s Food Bank.
At this bazaar, consumers were able to find a wider variety of brands than before through the expansion of participating affiliates. In addition to existing participants such as the flagship brands ‘Chungjungone’ and ‘Jongga’, as well as ‘Daesang Wellife MyMeal’ and ‘Daesang Dives Bogumjari’, this year affiliates like ‘Hyeseong Provision’, ‘Daesang Deliheim’, and ‘Daesang Pet Life’ also joined. A total of about 280 products, including home meal replacements (HMR), kimchi, health functional foods, meat, and nutritional foods and snacks for pets, were sold at discounts of up to 70% compared to regular prices.
Lee Bora, head of the Social Contribution Team at Daesang ESG Management Office, emphasized, "For nearly 20 years, we have continued this event to supply customers with various products at affordable prices and to deliver proceeds and leftover items to neighbors in need. Even after relocating our headquarters, many people have not forgotten and continue to visit, and we have been increasing the amount of goods provided for the event every year."

Despite being a weekday daytime, the event venue was crowded with visitors. Yoon Jin-su, in his 40s from Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, said, "I came to buy pasta sauce and soup or stew products that I usually eat often. These are products I consume steadily, so I try to stock up when they are cheap." Kim Young-ah, in her 30s, who works nearby, said, "I usually like ‘Anjuya’ products, but the prices were a bit high, so I couldn’t buy them in large quantities. I came to stock up this time. I also saw pet products, so I picked up a snack for my dog."
This year’s event also featured the sale of ‘Daesang Reusable Bags’ made from recycled waste plastic instead of plastic bags, and many shoppers used their own shopping bags. A Daesang representative explained, "Since this event is organized with good intentions, we prepared it with the aim of operating it more environmentally friendly." In addition to shopping bags, the uniforms of the Chungjungone volunteer group participating as volunteers at the event were made from upcycled materials recycled from discarded fishing nets thrown into the sea. About 220 volunteers participated in the event, including the Chungjungone Housewives Volunteer Group, Daesang Group employees, and residents of Biam-ri.
