Students from the Department of Fashion Design at Dongseo University participated in the ‘30th Busan Fashion Design Competition’ held at the Busan Fashion Biz Center and received numerous awards including the Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Brand Award, and Honorable Mentions.

All awardees are senior students from Dongseo University’s Department of Fashion Design. Student Lim Ye-jin received the Gold Prize and a cash award of 3 million KRW, Kim Su-min received the Silver Prize and 1 million KRW, and Kwon Jin-wook received the Brand Award. The Gold Prize-winning work by Lim Ye-jin carries the meaning of not fearing the standards set by society and freely expressing the freedom that has been hindered.
The piece conveys the message that one should not be afraid of society’s strange gazes toward those who express freedom, and that everyone can express their thoughts and freedom in their own unique way.
Lim Ye-jin said, “I was satisfied just to be able to create a work that reflects my own taste, so I am grateful to have received a major award.”
She added, “I have worked hard in various fields over the past four years at school to develop the qualities of a designer, and this opportunity has brought good results. I believe this award can be a good starting point.”
