On the 23rd, Ain, the 'Apgujeong Box Girl,' posted on her social networking service (SNS) that she would hold a fan meeting. The fan meeting is scheduled to take place on the 28th at a building in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and will include △photo sessions △games △Angel Box events △autograph sessions △drinking parties, among other activities. Notably, at the end of the post, it says, "I will hold a fan meeting. Come hang out. I will give you a lip kiss."

'Despite being under police investigation for public obscenity, fan meeting announcement posted'

The reason this post sparked controversy is that Ain is currently under investigation for public obscenity.

Earlier, on the 13th of this month, Ain walked the streets of Apgujeong-dong wearing only a box labeled 'Angel Box Girl,' saying, "I will let you touch my breasts."

Not stopping there, on the afternoon of the 21st, Ain roamed the streets of Hongdae wearing only a box with holes in it, allegedly allowing passersby to touch her body. The performance in Hongdae that day ended when police, responding to citizen reports, intervened.

Ain, who became a hot topic under the title 'Live Apgujeong Box Girl' at the time, stated in a media interview on the 14th, "I thought it was strange that when men take off their shirts, it's no big deal, but when women do, they get punished. This is a kind of performance art to break that norm."

Netizens who saw this criticized Ain's usual behavior and the pricing of the fan meeting as excessive. They raised voices of criticism such as, "Is she suffering from celebrity syndrome?", "Not 650,000 dong but 650,000 won?", and "Is the fan meeting also a form of performance art?"

On the other hand, some netizens defended Ain's actions, saying, "Whether it's expensive or cheap is relative," "Those who want to go will go, and those who don't won't," and "Why criticize her for holding a fan meeting or not?"

Meanwhile, on the 23rd, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating Ain, who walked around the Hongdae area in Mapo-gu wearing a box instead of clothes, and two men who assisted her, on charges of public obscenity.

Article 245 of the Criminal Act stipulates that "Anyone who publicly commits an obscene act shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than one year, a fine not exceeding 5 million won, detention, or a minor fine." Public obscenity can be established if obscene acts are performed in public places and people who see it feel sexual discomfort or shame.

There is a similar punishment under the Minor Offenses Act for excessive exposure. If convicted of excessive exposure, one may be fined up to 100,000 won.
