Pop-up Store Reinterpreting Seongsu-dong Abandoned Auto Repair Shop
Customizable with Designer and Artist Content
AvatarMade, a startup founded by faculty members of Konkuk University, announced on the 24th that its fashion life platform, DoDress, has opened a pop-up store that reinterprets an abandoned car repair shop in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, in line with the site launch. The DoDress pop-up store, operating until the 1st of next month, is collaborating with personal fashion brand designers, over 40 graphic artists worldwide, and domestic and international influencers.
At DoDress, consumers can select and combine unique collaborative products created by designers and artists according to their preferences to purchase their own customized clothing. The ‘Fashion Stickering’ service offered by DoDress allows users to print graphics from their chosen artists onto their selected clothes at desired positions, sizes, and quantities, just like sticking stickers on a phone or laptop. On-site, during the pop-up store operation period, DoDress will provide custom products worth around 40,000 KRW free of charge to the first 70 customers on weekdays and the first 200 customers on weekends.
Meanwhile, DoDress is promoting a decentralized Web3 fashion ecosystem centered on individual brand companies, creators, and influencers to communicate directly with consumers. To this end, it provides creators with a platform to promote their content and generate revenue directly. Users can purchase fashion items physically or virtually through this platform. Influencers are offered marketing and distribution opportunities for products to create added value. When actual transactions occur, fair profits are distributed to all creators who contributed to the product.
In the future, DoDress plans to expand creator participation worldwide alongside the reputation of K-fashion and apply various production technologies such as embroidery, patches, and 3D printing, as well as printing, to a wide range of fashion items including shoes, hats, and glasses.
