Gochang-gun to Host 'Healing Culture Festival' at Seonunsan from July 3 to 5

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 24th that it will hold the ‘2023 Gochang Cultural City Healing Culture Festival’ from the 3rd to the 5th of next month at the lawn yard of Seonunsan Provincial Park in Gochang-gun.

Hosted and organized by the Gochang Cultural Tourism Foundation and the Gochang Cultural City Center, this festival is held as Gochang-gun was designated as a Healing Cultural City by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (December 2022). It is a process-centered event where residents actively participate and create, based on Gochang’s unique ecological environment and healing history story.

The slogan of the healing festival is ‘Sdam Sdam Gochang,’ meaning ‘Embracing Gochang’s Story, Embracing the Smile of Healing.’ It embodies the future healing spirit of Gochang that makes healing a part of daily life and brands healing culture. Various experiences and performances by local residents and artists will be held.

On the first day, there will be an opening ceremony, healing music performances with Bokbunja wine (singers Ali, Yeohaeng Sketch, Park Hak-ki, etc.), healing exercises, and singing bowl sessions (pre-registration required, 200 participants).

On the second day, there will be local cultural performances including a youth orchestra, healing music performances with Bokbunja wine (singer Monni Band), and healing yoga lessons (pre-registration required, 200 participants).

On the third day, traditional and fusion sound local cultural performances, healing music performances with Bokbunja wine, and night bell performance lessons (pre-registration required, 200 participants) are prepared.

Shim Deok-seop, chairman of the Cultural Tourism Foundation, said, “Cultural City Gochang is striving to develop sustainable local culture and competitive cultural content,” adding, “We will establish this festival as a brand for healing culture.”
