CU, the No. 1 convenience store chain, announced on the 24th that it will start a convenience store parcel reservation service through a partnership with ‘Kakao T’.

The Kakao T convenience store parcel service, exclusively launched by CU in the industry, offers two types: regular parcels and CU Altteul parcels. When customers reserve convenience store parcel services through the Quick·Delivery service within the Kakao T application (app), they can drop off their parcels at any of the more than 17,000 CU stores nationwide.
To celebrate the launch of this service, CU will hold an unlimited parcel discount event from the 25th until the end of this year. When customers click the ‘Quick·Delivery’ icon under Kakao T Taxi and access the service, discount coupons are automatically issued, allowing customers to receive a 500 KRW discount on domestic regular parcels and a 300 KRW discount on Altteul parcels regardless of the number of uses.
CU expects that the parcel service partnership will further enhance consumer convenience. Previously, the company formed parcel service partnerships with various channels such as the mobile financial platform Toss, the leading secondhand trading platform Junggonara, and Bungaejangter.
CU’s Altteul parcel service handles only small parcels weighing 5 kg or less. Although the delivery period is slightly longer than regular parcels, the lower price has received positive responses from consumers.
Due to the recent activation of secondhand trading and the increase in online shopping, the number of Altteul parcel uses has explosively increased every year. The year-over-year growth rates of Altteul parcel usage were 421.9% in 2021, 89.7% in 2022, and 90.0% from January to September 2023, showing significant annual growth.
Park Hee-jin, head of BGF Retail’s Service Platform Team, said, “By entering the Kakao T platform, which has over 30 million cumulative subscribers, for the first time in the industry, we expect consumer convenience in parcel use to be greatly enhanced,” adding, “CU will continue to provide differentiated services and benefits through expanding partnerships with various companies.”
