The performance was halted by police intervention
Public opinion on the performance sharply divided
"A form of performance art," "An offensive obscene act"
Influencer "Ain," known as the "Apgujeong Box Girl," has appeared in Hongdae following Apgujeong, sparking controversy over her related actions.
On the 21st, Ain appeared in Hongdae, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, spending time interacting with many pedestrians while wearing only a box. Once again, Ain wandered the streets wearing a box with holes, inviting passersby of any gender to put their hands inside the box holes and touch her bare chest.
Ain's performance in Hongdae that day was brought to an end by police intervention. She posted photos related to her activity on her personal social networking service (SNS), writing, "The police dispersed us, so I left. Sorry."

Previously, Ain became a topic of conversation after appearing on the streets of Apgujeong wearing a box labeled "Angel Box Girl" upside down. In an interview with Ilyo Shinmun on the 14th, Ain revealed that she works as a Korean AV actress and model and has past experience working at a karaoke bar.
Regarding strangers touching her chest, she said, "It doesn't feel unpleasant. It's the part of my body I'm most confident about. I actually want to show it off. I wish every man would touch it," adding, "I don't want to treat the chest as a special taboo."
Regarding the performance shown in Apgujeong, Ain's agency representative stated, "It's not a problem for men to take off their shirts, but when women do, it's treated as a crime. We wanted to twist that reality," and explained the concept, saying, "I've wanted to create some breathing space regarding sexuality. In our country, the word 'sex' often leads to a complete shutdown."

Public opinion on Ain's performance is divided. Some netizens commented, "It should be seen as art, not obscenity," and "It's just performance art; our country should be more tolerant about sexuality."
On the other hand, some netizens criticized, saying, "It's a lewd act that causes discomfort to many people," and "She's just doing it to get attention."
There are also concerns about legal violations. Article 245 of the Criminal Act (Public Indecency) states that "Anyone who publicly commits an obscene act shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than one year, a fine not exceeding 5 million won, detention, or a minor fine." Public indecency can be established if obscene acts are performed in public places and people see them, causing sexual discomfort or shame.
