Maintenance and Beautification of Goseong Sangmyeong Village
Plogging Campaign for Environmental Cleanup
On the 23rd, Gyeongnam Nonghyup and the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center conducted a plogging campaign to clean up the environment around Sangmyeong Village in Gaechon-myeon, Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam, as part of the rural space maintenance and beautification project aimed at creating a safe village embracing the sun and as part of the Nonghyup-wide ESG activities.
This project was carried out to improve the quality of life for farmers and create rural landscapes by renovating underdeveloped rural villages, thereby enhancing rural value and revitalizing rural communities.

The event was attended by about 70 people, including Jeong Hoi-sook, Director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center, Kim Ju-yang, Head of Gyeongnam Nonghyup Headquarters, Shin Woo-kyung, Head of Nonghyup Goseong-gun Branch, Choi Nak-moon, Chairman of Donggoseong Nonghyup, Kim Chung-hwan, Head of Sangmyeong Village, and other village residents.
Gyeongnam Nonghyup supported the village hall maintenance by providing dining table sets for the elderly, installing rain shelters, repainting the exterior and repairing the floor of the village hall, and to help solve safety issues for the elderly, they installed solar-powered wall lights in alleys vulnerable at night and mailboxes at elderly households.
Village Head Kim said, “We are grateful to Gyeongnam Nonghyup and the Gyeongsangnam-do Volunteer Center for their generous support for the village,” adding, “The residents are very pleased.”
Head Kim stated, “I hope the rural space maintenance and beautification project will improve underdeveloped rural villages, enhance the quality of life for farmers, and help activate rural tourism,” and added, “Going forward, Gyeongnam Nonghyup will actively support the recreation of various rural values to ensure the sustainability of our agriculture and rural communities.”
