Dobong-gu Career and Academic Path Expo Held

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is hosting the '2023 Dobong-gu Career and College Admission Fair,' providing local students and parents with opportunities for career exploration and college admission information for the first time this year.

Under the theme "O.M.R. (Oh! My Roadmap): There is no correct answer, mark your dream!" the fair will take place at Dobong-gu Office starting at 9:30 AM on November 8.

The fair will feature various booths designed to address concerns about career paths and college admissions, catering to middle school students preparing for high school, high school students preparing for university entrance exams, and their parents.

The event will be held throughout the district office with themed zones: the ▲Lecture Zone (2nd floor Seoninbong Hall, 16th floor Jaunbong Hall) hosting high school and university admission briefings; the ▲Consultation Zone (2nd floor Seoninbong Hall, 2nd floor lobby and Citizen Hall) offering 1:1 university admission consulting and career mentoring; the ▲Experience Zone (1st floor lobby and outdoor area) providing career exploration opportunities; and the ▲Event Zone (1st floor lobby and outdoor area) where students can relieve academic stress.

First, the 'High School Admission Briefing' will begin at 10 AM in the 16th floor Jaunbong Hall, set up as the Lecture Zone. A scholarship officer from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Research and Information Center will provide objective and reliable admission information under the theme "Understanding the High School Curriculum and Desirable High School Life Linked to High School and University Admissions." At 6:30 PM, the 'University Admission Briefing' titled "Changing University Admissions, Unwavering University Admission Strategies for Dobong-gu Students" will be held in the 2nd floor Seoninbong Hall, featuring admission expert 'Admission King Pentakill' Director Choi Seung-hae.

The '1:1 University Admission Consulting,' where 13 admission experts provide customized admission information, will be held at 10 AM in the 2nd floor Seoninbong Hall. The '1:1 Career Mentoring,' where students from eight major universities share department-specific career information, will start at 9:30 AM in the 2nd floor lobby.

Various experience booths designed to spark youth interest and engagement will also be available. From 9:30 AM, 28 programs including robot experiences, specialized high school-focused activities, PD and songwriting job experiences, and VR truck rides will operate in the 1st floor lobby and outdoor area.

Participation in the fair is available through pre-registration and on-site registration. Pre-registration is required for the high school and university admission briefings and 1:1 consulting with admission experts, while other activities can be registered for on-site.

Pre-registration opens online from 9 AM on October 25 and will close once capacity is reached on a first-come, first-served basis. For more details, visit the Dobong-gu website (Notice Board → Announcements) or contact the Dobong-gu Education Support Division or Dobong Career and Job Experience Support Center.

Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu stated, "We hope this fair will help students and parents establish systematic career and admission plans," adding, "We will continue to provide opportunities for students and parents who are concerned about admissions and careers."

Meanwhile, under the educational vision of "Dobong, an educational city where all generations grow together," Dobong-gu has established the 'Dobong-gu 8th Term Comprehensive Education Plan,' the first of its kind among autonomous districts this year, expanding admission briefings and classes. The district office has also set up an admission counseling room and actively promotes admission support projects to enhance educational competitiveness by conducting up to 200 admission and career consultations annually, including evening sessions.
