[Yang Nak-gyu's Defence photo] Intense Korea-UK Joint Training Site

The Republic of Korea Army and the British Army conducted a joint training exercise at the Korea Combat Training Center (KCTC). The exercise, held from the 10th to the 20th of last month, was named ‘Exercise Imjin Warrior.’ It commemorates the British 29th Brigade's fierce battle against three Chinese divisions during the Korean War, which successfully halted the invasion of Seoul and honors the comrades who died in that battle.

Approximately 2,400 personnel participated in this exercise, centered around the ROK Army’s 6th Division’s Yuktan Eagles Brigade Combat Team, along with one mechanized infantry battalion from the 1st Armored Brigade, the 5th Corps Special Forces Regiment, and Special Warfare Command units. The British Scots Guards Regiment contributed one company. While the British forces participated at the platoon level last year, they expanded their presence to the company level this year. Notably, the exercise involved over 270 combat vehicles and equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles, self-propelled artillery, attack and maneuver helicopters, drones, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Major Matthew Teasdale, company commander of the Scots Guards Regiment, said, "It is a great honor to experience the ROK Army’s scientific training system and train together. We hope that continuous mutual exchanges will further strengthen the relationship between our two countries."
