The Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Chu Yoon-gu) held the October monthly meeting of the Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairpersons Association on the 18th.
The Seoul Metropolitan Council Chairpersons Association is a council composed of chairpersons from the 25 autonomous district councils of Seoul, held monthly in each district to promote mutual exchange and cooperation for local autonomy and the development of councils.
This monthly meeting was hosted by the Gwangjin District Council (Chairman Chu Yoon-gu), beginning with the opening remarks by Choi Dong-cheol, president of the Chairpersons Association, and a welcome speech by Chairman Chu Yoon-gu of the Gwangjin District Council, followed by congratulatory remarks from District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, the presentation of the Local Council Awards, reports, and deliberation on agenda items.
In his welcome speech, Chairman Chu Yoon-gu said, “I am honored that this Chairpersons Association meeting is being held in our Gwangjin District,” and added, “I hope this gathering becomes a meaningful communication platform to share diverse and beneficial opinions for the development of local councils and serves as a valuable time to mature local autonomy to the next level.”
During the meeting, major issues from each autonomous district were shared, and in-depth discussions were held on common agenda items of the association.
Meanwhile, at this Chairpersons Association meeting, the ‘Local Council Awards’ were presented to Gwangjin District Council members Kim Sang-hee, Heo Eun, Go Sang-soon, and Seo Min-woo for their active legislative activities contributing to the development of the local community and the welfare of district residents.
