The 78th Police Day Commemoration Ceremony, Gyeongnam Police Agency Jeong Byeong-gwan Office

Commissioner Kim Byung-su: "Securing Residents' Trust Through Basic Fidelity and Adherence to Principles"

The 78th Police Day commemorative event was held on the morning of the 18th at the Jeong Byeong-gwan Auditorium of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency.


According to the Provincial Police Agency, the ceremony, attended by about 250 people including Commissioner Kim Byung-su, Chairman Jeong Byeong-cheol of the Police Development Council, heads of cooperative organizations, and police officers, proceeded in the order of the national anthem, a moment of silence for the patriotic martyrs, introduction of attendees, awards for meritorious service, video viewing, reading of the presidential congratulatory message, congratulatory performances, and singing of the police anthem.


On this day, 160 members of public safety cooperative organizations, including Kim Han-jung, chairman of the Investigation Deliberation Committee who received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Commendation, were recognized for their contributions to police development and received commendations and letters of appreciation.


Also, 467 people, including Sergeant Lee Min-beom of Masan Jungbu Police Station who was awarded the Geunjeong Medal, and Superintendent Shim Hyung-tae of the Audit, Inspection, and Human Rights Office who received the Presidential Commendation, became recipients of awards.

Commissioner Kim said, “I express my gratitude to my fellow staff who have quietly and faithfully performed their duties, the members of cooperative organizations who have worked hard for police development, and all the residents of the province who always offer their support.”


He added, “We will secure the trust of the residents through police activities that are faithful to the basics and adhere to principles, and create the safest Gyeongnam where residents are happy through fair and dignified handling of duties.”


Earlier, before the event in the morning, Commissioner Kim visited the Chung Hon Tower in Changwon City to honor the patriotic martyrs and fallen police officers.


After the flower offering and moment of silence, Commissioner Kim pledged, “We will become the Gyeongnam Police who are loved and trusted by the residents.”
