The Goryeong-gun Tourism Association in Gyeongbuk invited over 30 representatives and executives from affiliated travel agencies, including Citywat, the president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), to Goryeong-gun, a city of World Cultural Heritage, on the 15th.
In response to the visit from the Association of Thai Travel Agents, Namcheol Lee, the governor of Goryeong-gun, Kim Yonghyun, president of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Association, the head of the Tourism Promotion Division of Goryeong-gun, public officials, and staff of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Association attended to warmly welcome the guests.
During this visit, the guests toured the Jisandong Tumuli Cluster, registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, as well as the Daegaya Museum, Royal Tomb Exhibition Hall, and the Goari Mural Tomb Model Hall. This meaningful time was spent promoting the excellence of Daegaya history and exchanging marketing information to attract overseas tourists to the Gaya cultural zone.
Citywat, president of the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), stated, “I will generously promote Goryeong-gun, which has World Cultural Heritage and abundant tourism resources, in Thailand as well,” and praised, “Goryeong-gun seems to have infinite potential to develop as a global tourist city.”
In response, Governor Namcheol Lee said, “This was a valuable opportunity to exchange information with tourism and travel industry officials from Thailand, a world-renowned tourist destination,” and expressed enthusiasm, saying, “We will develop distinctive and differentiated tourism products to attract tourists not only from Thailand but from various countries overseas, and transform Goryeong-gun into a world-class tourist city.”
Kim Yonghyun, president of the Goryeong-gun Tourism Association, said, “We will continue to work together to blossom Gaya cultural zone in the world through communication and win-win tourism.”
The visit of the ATTA president, representatives, and executives to Goryeong is especially meaningful as it is the fruit of the win-win tourism and friendly cooperative relationship established between Hapcheon-gun and Goryeong-gun, led by Kang Gilsu, president of the Hapcheon-gun Tourism Association.
