Over 1,200 Participants and More Than 210 Suggestions Received
Ulsan City’s Ulju-gun conducted the ‘Dialogue with Village Leaders of Ulju-gun’ targeting 12 eup and myeon from September 21 to October 17.
Held for the first time this year, the dialogue with village leaders was organized to facilitate communication with village leaders who assist the heads of villages and act as administrative supporters for the development of Ulju-gun, with a total of about 1,200 participants.
At the event, County Governor Lee Soon-geol, along with Chairman Kim Young-cheol of the Ulju-gun Council, county and city council members, and senior officials, met with village leaders from each eup and myeon to engage in dialogue and build consensus.
Governor Lee directly presented Ulju-gun’s major priority projects and eup/myeon-specific projects at the event, sharing county administration with the village leaders, emphasizing their duties and roles, and urging active participation in county governance.
A total of about 210 proposals were received from the village leaders. Since they carry out administration closest to the local residents, they presented various inconveniences related to daily life.
Looking at the details, road-related requests such as road paving and drainage maintenance were the most frequent, followed by proposals for parking, bus stop improvements, installation of sports facilities, security CCTV, and streetlight installation.
Governor Lee Soon-geol said, “We will promote various policies to strengthen the role of village leaders, who are the hidden workers in our neighborhoods, and to improve their work capabilities and boost their pride. We will continue to carry out communication administration that approaches the lives of Ulju-gun residents to create a livable neighborhood and a happy Ulju-gun for all.”
Starting with the dialogue with village leaders this year, Ulju-gun plans to implement various projects from next year to enhance village leaders’ understanding of and capabilities in county administration.
