A free shuttle bus supporting the commuting of workers in the foreign investment zone in Cheonan, Chungnam, will be operated.
Chungnam Province announced on the 17th that a shuttle bus opening ceremony was held at the Baekseok-dong foreign investment zone in Cheonan. The shuttle bus is operated free of charge to support the commuting of employees of companies located in the Cheonan foreign investment zone and to improve the traffic environment around the foreign investment zone.
This is the first case of operating a free shuttle bus in the foreign investment zone and is implemented in cooperation with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation. A total of 7 shuttle buses will operate on 4 routes, and the Foreign Investment Company Support Center will be entrusted with the operation. The routes include the Cheonan foreign investment zone, Cheonan-Asan KTX Station, Dujung Station, Cheonan Bus Terminal, and Dongtan Station.
These routes were selected based on a demand survey targeting resident companies, prioritizing those with the highest benefits. The shuttle bus fare is free of charge.
Chungnam Province expects that the shuttle bus operation will enhance commuting convenience for employees of resident companies while contributing to alleviating vehicle congestion and parking difficulties near the foreign investment zone.
A Chungnam Province official said, “We expect that the shuttle bus project will help reduce the chronic traffic difficulties faced by foreign investment companies investing in Chungnam to some extent,” and added, “Chungnam Province will continue to promote support to improve the business environment for foreign investment companies to attract investment within the region.”
