"Hamas Should Operate... She Wants to Return"
The Palestinian armed faction Hamas has released a video of a female captive in her 20s. They also stated that they are holding more than 200 Israeli captives in the Gaza Strip.
According to a report by CNN, on the 16th (local time), Hamas released a video on Telegram of Israeli female captive Mia Shim (21) in the Gaza Strip. Shim is a French-Israeli woman who sustained an arm injury and was reportedly captured on the 7th, when Hamas launched airstrikes on Israel.

The video also included an interview with Shim. She said, "Hamas treated my injured arm over the course of three hours," and appealed, "I hope to be sent home as soon as possible."
This is the first time Hamas has revealed hostages held in the Gaza Strip. Israeli authorities have stated that at least 199 hostages are being held in Gaza. Meanwhile, Hamas claims to be holding between 200 and 250 hostages.
Abu Obaida, Hamas spokesperson, said that foreign-national hostages are planned to be released under certain conditions, and that the Al-Qassam Brigades are protecting them.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) informed Shim’s family of her abduction last week and are currently in contact with them.
The IDF stated, "We are mobilizing all information and operational means to return the hostages," and condemned Hamas as "a heinous terrorist organization that kills or abducts infants, women, and children, yet tries to portray itself as a humanitarian organization."
