Supply of 66,000 Units... Groundbreaking of 'Namyangju Wangsuk New Town'

Subscription Start Scheduled for the Second Half of Next Year

The construction project for Namyangju Wangsuk New Town, which will supply approximately 66,000 housing units, broke ground on the 15th. The government plans to start sales in the second half of 2024 as originally scheduled.


Supply of 66,000 Units... Groundbreaking of 'Namyangju Wangsuk New Town'

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it held a groundbreaking ceremony for Namyangju Wangsuk New Town in Jingeon-eup, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do on the same day. The event was organized to celebrate and commemorate the occasion with key officials from the Ministry of Land, Gyeonggi Province, Namyangju City, the project implementers including Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (SH), Namyangju Urban Corporation, and local residents.


Namyangju Wangsuk New Town, the largest among the 3rd phase new towns, is expected to supply 66,000 housing units, including 25,000 New:Home units for youth and low-income households without homes. Sales will begin in the second half of 2024 as planned, and move-in will start from the second half of 2026.


Namyangju Wangsuk New Town will enable commuting to downtown Seoul within 30 minutes via GTX-B and Subway Line 9, and will develop urban infrastructure around the station areas including residential, employment, education, medical, and cultural facilities.


Won Hee-ryong, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, "Wangsuk New Town, with excellent living conditions, will become a competitive and attractive ‘regional growth hub’ where talented people and businesses gather," adding, "The government will spare no effort to support Wangsuk New Town’s growth into a core living area in the metropolitan region."


Minister Won also announced that starting with the groundbreaking of Namyangju Wangsuk district, the four 3rd phase new towns?Goyang Changneung, Hanam Gyosan, and Bucheon Daejang districts?will sequentially begin construction within this year. The supply scale of these four districts is 154,000 housing units.


The government plans to steadily advance the 3rd phase new town supply plan while managing the project so that personnel responsible for ordering, design, construction, and supervision at each stage on site can carry out the project with construction quality and safety as the top priorities.
