This year's event expands in scale by integrating the 'SME Technology Innovation Expo,' held since 2000, and the 'SME Management Innovation Competition,' held since 2018. It is being held in Busan to support the promotion of the 2030 Busan EXPO bid.
The event slogan is "Innovative SMEs Change the World!" To support SME innovation, the event plans to share and spread technological and managerial innovation achievements in five key focus areas: carbon neutrality·ESG (environment, social, governance), global, research and development (R&D) innovation, digital, and technology protection.
At the 'SME Innovation Merit Awards Ceremony,' Minister Lee Young of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will attend to award SMEs and related contributors who have achieved outstanding results through technological and managerial innovation and contributed to national economic development. A total of 228 awards will be given, including 3 orders of merit, 4 medals, 20 presidential citations, 30 prime minister citations, and 171 ministerial citations.
Side events include various seminars such as the Technology and Skilled Talent Competition, an Initial Public Offering (IPO) pitching forum for mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and win-win investments, and the Scale-up TIPS Conference.
Exhibition and promotional booths organized by host institutions will be operated in five zones: carbon neutrality·ESG, global, R&D innovation, digital, and themed policy halls.
The event is free for anyone to attend both online and offline. Online participation will be live-streamed on the official YouTube channel and other platforms.
