Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the wrestling competition of the 104th National Sports Festival will be held for six days from the 13th to the 18th.
About 1,000 athletes and officials from 17 cities and provinces across the country participated in this National Sports Festival wrestling competition.
On the first day, the 13th, 130 matches were held in the men's high school, college, and general divisions.
The county invested 1 billion KRW in remodeling the Hampyeong Culture and Sports Center to ensure that the athletes participating in the competition can demonstrate their best skills.
Before the event, thorough preparations were made to welcome the athletes, including hygiene inspections of local accommodations and restaurants, joint safety inspections with related organizations, and the establishment of traffic measures.
Additionally, 20 volunteers and 100 provincial supporters were recruited to provide an opportunity for Hampyeong residents to enjoy and unite.
County Governor Sang-ik Lee said, “Since this National Sports Festival is being held in Jeollanam-do for the first time in 15 years, we will do our best to ensure that the visiting athletes perform at their best and that visitors can watch comfortably and enjoyably.”
Meanwhile, this National Sports Festival, held in Jeollanam-do for the first time in 15 years, will take place from the 13th to the 19th.
