Lee Jae-jin, CEO of Woongjin ThinkBig, has joined the 'Disposable Products Zero Challenge,' pledging to reduce the use of disposable products in daily life.
The 'Disposable Products Zero Challenge' is a relay challenge initiated by the Ministry of Environment in February to promote environmental protection and carbon neutrality by using reusable products instead of disposable ones. Participants post on social media (SNS) about their commitment to reducing disposable product use and then nominate the next participant.
CEO Lee joined the challenge after being nominated by Kim I-bae, CEO of Jeju Air. He then nominated Kim Jeong-hyun, CEO of Noriui Balgyeon, and Kim Gye-won, CEO of Unipost, as the next participants.
Since 2006, Woongjin ThinkBig has actively implemented company-wide eco-friendly activities under the slogan "Love passionately, keep the Earth cool," including ▲using personal cups instead of paper cups ▲minimizing paper use during meetings ▲turning off office lights during lunch and at night ▲activating PC power-saving mode, while also striving to raise environmental awareness among employees.
Through the Woongjin Book Club's 'Buyback Service,' which offers mileage points when purchased book sets are returned after use, the company collects used books and recycles them into recycled paper, fulfilling its corporate social responsibility toward the environment.
CEO Lee said, "Even small efforts like using fewer paper cups can lead to significant changes in protecting the environment when practiced together," adding, "We will continue eco-friendly activities to ensure that the growing children can welcome a sustainable future."
