On the 12th, the 20th Saemaeul Book Club Leaders Outdoor Writing Contest was held at Achasan Badminton Court in Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho).

The writing contest is an annual event aimed at fostering sound values, establishing a reading culture, and encouraging writing, open to all residents of Gwangjin-gu.

This year marks the 20th event, organized by the Saemaeul Book Club Gwangjin-gu Branch (President Kwon Jong-hyung), with about 250 book club leaders and residents attending.

The event proceeded in the order of opening ceremony, theme presentation, writing contest, judging, and awards. The themes were "Communication, Family, Sunset, My Wish," and the contest was divided into poetry and prose categories. Participants showcased their honed skills to the fullest and enjoyed playtime, fostering harmony and communication.

The submitted manuscripts were reviewed by eight judges, and 13 works were selected in each of the poetry and prose categories. The winning works will be included in the "Saemaeul Book Club Anthology."

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "I would like to express my gratitude to President Kwon Jong-hyung and the leaders who always strive to promote reading as a daily habit and expand its base," adding, "We will continue to do our best to revitalize the reading culture and create a premium educational city through expanding reading facilities and various support."
