'Changwon Welfare Expo' as a Communication Platform

Great Response through Citizen Welfare Experience

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2023 Changwon Welfare Expo' on the 12th at Exhibition Hall 1 of the Changwon Convention Center.

Under the slogan "Creating Welfare Together, Joy for Everyone, Connecting Hope for Changwon Welfare," the expo, marking its 14th year, was attended by Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, local provincial and city council members, members of the local community security council, heads of social welfare institutions, as well as social welfare facilities and organizations. The event served as a communication platform to inform local residents about Changwon welfare and to share information among welfare sector stakeholders.

On the 12th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '2023 Changwon Welfare Expo' at Exhibition Hall 1 of the Changwon Convention Center.

At the expo venue, 95 social welfare institutions operated exhibition and experience promotion booths to allow many citizens to see Changwon’s welfare at a glance. This helped widely promote welfare services by sector, raise residents’ interest in welfare, and highlight the need to accompany socially vulnerable groups who require assistance.

Additionally, the event featured resident participation stage performances such as ukulele performances by seniors, youth dance, children’s choir, the "Is it right? Or not?" OX quiz, tug-of-war with children, as well as side events including a baby drawing exhibition and awards ceremony. These activities made the expo a community-driven event, receiving great responses from participants and successfully concluding the expo.

Mayor Hong said, “I expect the Changwon Welfare Expo to be an opportunity to promote Changwon’s welfare, and I will continue to implement city administration that collaborates with social welfare-related institutions to establish diverse welfare policies tailored to each life cycle.”
