Cheongsong-gun to Host 2023 Cheongsong Apple Trail Run

Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will host the "2023 Cheongsong Apple Trail Run" on the upcoming weekend, October 15, at the 'Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong Garden,' the largest cockscomb flower garden in the nation, showcasing Cheongsong's outstanding scenery.

This event is organized by Cheongsong-gun and sponsored by Maeil Shinmun, with support from the Cheongsong County Council, Cheongsong Sports Association, and Cheongsong Police Station. The race will be divided into four courses: mountain half-marathon, 10 km, 5 km, and a walk around Cheongsong Garden.

Starting at Cheongsong Garden, where the cockscomb flowers are in full bloom, and running along the Taehangsan mountain trail, the event is expected to attract around 1,300 athletes and officials from across the country. Through this trail run, the county plans to promote Cheongsong apples, a representative local specialty, and revitalize the regional economy.

Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, "This event will be a great opportunity to enjoy Cheongsong's beautiful nature while running through the Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong-gun and improving health. We ask for the interest and participation of many people."
