Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, will hold resident briefings from the 13th to the 16th in four villages of Asan-myeon and five villages of Mujang-myeon regarding the ‘Gangnamcheon Local Stream Maintenance Project.’
According to the county on the 12th, the Gangnamcheon Local Stream Maintenance Project is a project that will invest a total of 35.473 billion KRW by 2026 to maintain a 3.3 km stream from Gangnam-ri in Mujang-myeon to the confluence point of Jujincheon in Jujin-ri, Asan-myeon, and reconstruct nine bridges.
Construction began in July this year, but work was temporarily halted due to crop cultivation in the project area. Full-scale construction is scheduled to resume at the end of October after the rice harvest.
The county plans to hold resident briefings to explain project details, seek understanding and gather opinions on inconveniences caused by the construction, and request cooperation for compensation of expropriated land.
Lee Gwang-su, the county’s Safety General Manager, said, “We will frequently communicate with local residents while promoting the Gangnamcheon Local Stream Maintenance Project to minimize inconveniences caused by the construction.”
