Gwangju Bank recently announced on the 11th that it conducted preventive education to protect merchants from financial fraud at Daein Market in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
Employees of Gwangju Bank promoted the campaign by personally delivering brochures containing information on voice phishing techniques and response methods to merchants in the traditional market.
A separate training session was also arranged for the merchants' association, providing customized education on various types of financial fraud prevention, response measures in case of damage, cases of self-employed victims, and illegal financial activities to watch out for, which are common challenges faced by small business owners.
On-the-spot Q&A sessions regarding voice phishing consultations were also conducted.
Jung Chang-joo, Chief Consumer Protection Officer (CCO), stated, “As financial fraud techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated, special caution is required. Gwangju Bank will continue to do its best to safely protect the valuable assets of small business owners in traditional markets.”
