Lotte Shopping Wins Gold at US Galaxy Awards for Sustainability Management Report

Awarded for 2 Consecutive Years Following Last Year

Lotte Shopping announced on the 11th that its 2022 Sustainability Management Report, published in June, won the Gold Award at the 2023 Galaxy Awards.

Now in its 33rd year, the Galaxy Awards is a global marketing communication competition organized by the U.S.-based MerComm, a professional corporate communication evaluation organization. Experts from over 140 organizations worldwide participate as judges to announce winners across 15 categories including annual reports, promotional materials, and advertisements. Lotte Shopping was recognized for the second consecutive year with an excellent sustainability management report, following a Bronze Award in the same category last year.

Since last year, Lotte Shopping has been publishing sustainability management reports containing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities to communicate with stakeholders such as customers and shareholders. The report includes ESG initiatives and achievements carried out by Lotte Shopping’s business divisions, including Lotte Department Store, Lotte Mart, Lotte Super, and Lotte e-Commerce. The 2022 Sustainability Management Report covers topics such as environmental management direction and climate change response strategies, resource circulation and sustainable product development cases, co-growth activities with partner companies, community-linked social contribution activities, establishment of advanced governance, and practice of compliance and ethical management.

A representative from the Lotte Distribution Group stated, "Lotte Shopping is making various efforts to promote systematic and transparent ESG activities," adding, "This award is an external recognition of Lotte Shopping’s commitment to ESG management."
