Busan Office of Education Supports Teachers' Legitimate Student Life Guidance

Support for Smooth On-Site Implementation Including Payment of Substitute Allowances

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education announced plans to provide substitute allowances to teachers who supervise and guide students in separate locations.

This policy is being implemented in accordance with Article 12, Paragraph 6 of the "Notice on Teachers' Student Life Guidance," which pertains to student separation.

Additionally, students whose problematic behavior does not improve will be connected with the "Education Office Wee Center" for expert diagnosis and healing at the education office level, aiming to promote behavioral improvement and change.

The Busan Office of Education explained that this will help prevent learning loss for separated students and assist in preventing interference with teachers' educational activities and securing the right to instruction.

Furthermore, the education office plans to continuously identify and improve difficulties in the field by organizing a "Student Life Regulation Revision T/F and Consulting Team" to ensure that teachers do not face challenges when guiding student life based on the notice.

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, "Revising the student life regulations according to the notice will protect teachers from indiscriminate child abuse reports," and added, "We will do our best to support schools in strengthening teachers' authority and guaranteeing students' right to learn."
