The city explained that citizens registered as residents of Yongin (including registered foreigners) can receive insurance benefits without any separate enrollment procedures.

The coverage period for this insurance is from March 11 of this year to March 10 of next year, and compensation can be claimed within three years from the date of the accident.

The coverage includes various benefits ranging from hospitalization consolation money to compensation for permanent disability and death.

If hospitalized for more than six days due to an accident, a hospitalization consolation payment of 150,000 KRW is provided.

If diagnosed as requiring treatment for four weeks or more, a diagnostic consolation payment of 160,000 KRW can be claimed. For five weeks or more, 240,000 KRW; six weeks or more, 320,000 KRW; seven weeks or more, 400,000 KRW; and eight weeks or more, 480,000 KRW will be paid.

If a permanent disability results from a bicycle accident, up to 10 million KRW is covered, and in the event of death, 10 million KRW is guaranteed.

To claim insurance benefits, the insured must call the insurance company (DB Insurance) to report the accident. Following the instructions, submitting the claim form along with a resident registration certificate, a copy of the ID, medical diagnosis, and hospitalization confirmation will allow for review and compensation payment.

A city official said, "As autumn arrives, more citizens are enjoying bicycling," adding, "We hope that those injured in bicycle accidents can receive financial assistance through the insurance benefits."
