KCC Takes Initiative to Improve Aging Residential Environment in Samdeok Village

KCC Takes Initiative to Improve Aging Residential Environment in Samdeok Village KCC employees are volunteering to improve aging residential environments.

KCC announced on the 5th that it has carried out environmental improvements for the aging residential environment in Samdeok Village in Seongbuk-gu in cooperation with the Seongbuk District Office.

The recent improvement work in the aging environment of Samdeok Village, Seongbuk-gu, is part of KCC’s “On Neighborhood Forest” project, which has been ongoing for six years. This social contribution program is a collaborative effort among the government, private companies, and non-profit organizations to improve the poor residential conditions of aging housing complexes into cleaner and more pleasant environments.

The exterior wall painting work carried out to improve the residential environment of Samdeok Village was done in cooperation with the village residents using KCC’s eco-friendly water-based paint. Through a colorful arrangement of colors such as mustard, blue, white, pink, and ivory, different concepts were applied to create warm and lively, modern and sophisticated, and cozy and peaceful atmospheres, transforming the aging buildings and public facilities in the village into a clean and beautiful environment. After completing the painting work, the improvement status of the residential environment was carefully monitored, including gathering feedback from village elders.

A KCC official said, "We hope that the exterior wall painting of the aging residential environment will increase the residents’ attachment to their homes," adding, "We plan to make the village more vibrant through various social contribution activities in the future."

Under the social contribution catchphrase “A Better World Made Together,” KCC has been carrying out the “On Neighborhood Forest” and “Saetteul Village” projects since 2018 as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management to fulfill its corporate social responsibility.
