Built in 1971, the oldest pilot apartment complex in Yeouido will be redeveloped into a high-rise complex with up to 65 floors and 2,466 households.
On the 4th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held a meeting of the Urban Planning Committee's Rapid Integrated Planning Maintenance Project and the Authorization Subcommittee, and on the 5th announced that it had amended and approved the redevelopment plan decision and maintenance district designation for the Yeouido Pilot Apartment redevelopment project.
This apartment complex, located along the Han River, is an aging complex consisting of 27 buildings and 1,584 households built in 1971, and the rapid integrated planning was confirmed in September 2022.
With this decision, the pilot apartment will be redeveloped into a large-scale residential complex with a floor area ratio of up to 399.99% and 2,466 households. It will also include a linear commercial area and a community center open to local residents.
In particular, taking advantage of its proximity to the Han River, a waterfront cultural park equipped with cultural facilities will be created, and a three-dimensional pedestrian bridge connecting the Han River Park, which was cut off by the Wonhyo Bridge entrance ramp and roadway, will be constructed to create a green and pedestrian-friendly residential complex.
Additionally, various building types such as high-rise towers and mid- to low-rise residential areas have been planned to protect the topographical landscape characteristics of the waterfront hills and to create a harmonious skyline with surrounding commercial and office facilities.
A Seoul city official said, "With the establishment of this maintenance plan, it is expected that the Yeouido Pilot Apartment redevelopment project will proceed at a faster pace."
