LG Uplus announced on the 3rd that it has expanded its ‘U+ Quantum-Resistant Encryption Dedicated Line’ product lineup, launched last year to strengthen its competitiveness in the quantum-resistant encryption business, to three types. The ‘U+ Quantum-Resistant Encryption Dedicated Line’ is a corporate dedicated network product that provides a hacking-proof security environment through optical transmission equipment (Q-ROADM, Quantum - Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer) equipped with quantum-resistant encryption technology.

To diversify the customer base using the quantum-resistant encryption dedicated line, LG Uplus has completed the technical preparations to newly launch 1G and 100G products following the existing 10G product. The 1G product is expected to target public institutions and domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies, while the 100G product is anticipated to meet demand from large corporations or global companies.

To expand the quantum-resistant encryption dedicated line product lineup, LG Uplus upgraded the security of the optical transmission equipment (Q-ROADM) in collaboration with Cryptolab, which developed the quantum-resistant encryption algorithm, and Cowiver, a telecommunications equipment manufacturer. In addition to the quantum-resistant encryption algorithms developed domestically, LG Uplus also applied quantum-resistant encryption algorithms currently being standardized by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), thereby securing global competitiveness.

LG Uplus’s Noh Seong-joo, Head of the Network Platform Group (Executive Director), said, “Taking this opportunity to diversify the dedicated line products, we will further enhance quantum security by applying advanced quantum-resistant encryption technology,” and added, “We will continue to solidify our business and technological competitiveness by introducing various services based on the scalability of quantum-resistant encryption.”
