In addition to the monthly integrated events, CU is conducting various promotions including the Ssweoper Sale, a +1 event on popular products from the 1st to the 11th, the morning and afternoon time sales called 'Chingutime' (Friend Time), and discount offers on major items with high customer demand through affiliated card payments. Starting this month, the promotional products have been switched to winter mode.
Through the Ssweoper Sale, about 70 products are offered with a +1 event along with a simultaneous 20% discount when paying with BC Paybook. The 1+1 deals mainly include winter products such as five types of canned coffee, five types of warm ready-to-eat soups, stews, and jjigae, eight types of hot bars, and stockings.
Targeting diverse customer demands, instant rice, canned food, frozen dumplings, ham sausages, and toys are sold as 1+1, while rice noodles, jjambbong noodles, and sagol gomtang tteokguk are introduced through 2+1 events. Snacks, fruits, and fried chicken are offered at discounts of up to 50%.
Roasted sweet potatoes also enter the October discount event. For three types of roasted sweet potatoes, a 30% discount is applied when paying with NH Nonghyup Card this month, allowing purchases at a minimum price of 1,120 won depending on size. Roasted chestnuts and four types of boiled eggs are also sold at the same discount rate.
CU’s ultra-low-price private brand (PB), HEYROO’s Deuktem series, with the hot bar Deuktem recording the highest sales, offers a 30% discount when paying with Samsung Card or KakaoPay, timed to coincide with the peak winter hot bar sales season.
Through the time sale 'Chingutime', from 7 to 9 a.m., simple breakfast items including Bakehouse 405 bread, and from 7 to 9 p.m., 37 products including Giant Tteokbokki, HEYROO snacks, and other side dishes are offered at a 30% discount when paying with BC Card or KB Kookmin Card.
Meanwhile, with the temperature dropping sharply since the end of September, sales of winter products at convenience stores have significantly increased.
Analyzing sales of major products at CU from the 26th of last month to the 2nd of this month compared to the previous month, Get coffee hot Americano sales increased by 30.2%, while canned coffee from the warming cabinet rose 21.6%, soy milk 20.8%, and honey water 18.9%, all showing double-digit growth rates. One-cup products mixed with hot water saw a 64.1% increase in sales.
Hot bars and roasted sweet potatoes also saw sales increases of 28.5% and 50.7%, respectively, and stockings, which see increased demand when cold winds blow, rose by 33.6%.
CU launched three differentiated hand warmers in collaboration with the Briquette Bank last month, about two months earlier than usual, and has consecutively introduced more than 20 winter items such as gloves, earmuffs, and thermal pants. Get coffee is being promoted mainly as hot coffee instead of the existing iced version, and the winter snack Hobang was released early in mid-September with four types of Line Friends’ Mini Mini Hobang series. Recently, CU also introduced a Paldo Han-kki fish cake soup set with stir-fried pork and sundae stir-fried broth side dishes in collaboration with Goraesa fish cakes.
