Encouraging On-site Employees and Discussing Business Expansion Plans
Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong embarked on an on-site visit to three Middle Eastern countries?Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Egypt?during the Chuseok holiday period.

On the 1st (local time), Lee inspected the construction site of the eco-friendly smart city 'NEOM' mountain tunnel project in Tabuk Province, northwest Saudi Arabia, in which Samsung C&T is participating.
He visited the Middle East region again after one year since inspecting the Barakah nuclear power plant construction site in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year.
NEOM is part of Saudi Arabia's large-scale national reform project 'Vision 2030,' and Samsung C&T is involved in the underground railway construction.

At the construction site, Chairman Lee encouraged the employees working there and discussed plans to expand business in the Middle East with the management team.
He said, "The Middle East is a treasure trove full of opportunities for future food sources and innovative technologies," and added, "Although you are currently enduring hardships away from your families in a foreign land, let us boldly challenge ourselves with the mindset that we are on the front lines securing the future of 'Global Samsung.'"

Before visiting Saudi Arabia that day, Chairman Lee visited the Samsung Electronics factory located in Beni Suef Province in central Egypt to inspect the TV and tablet production sites and then discussed Samsung's Middle East business strategy.
