SNS Lab, the operator of the startup growth platform Iris Lab, selected 10 promising startups for the first cohort of the bio, healthcare, and food tech startup accelerating program '2023 IRIS Startup Challenge' in May, in collaboration with SNS Investment, a new technology business finance specialist company. The selected companies received various benefits over approximately four months, including △mentoring/consulting △networking △education △shared laboratory equipment support, and completed their IR pitching at the demo day held on September 22.
The demo day was held as part of the 'Try Everything 2023 Joint Cooperation Program' hosted by SNS Lab and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA). The judging panel consisted of nine evaluators from △Gaia Ventures Partners △Gugim △Bluepoint Partners △SNS Lab △SNS Investment △Korea Omega Investment Finance △Korea Investment Partners. Among the 10 selected companies, nine participated in the demo day pitching, and three teams were awarded.
BioSolvix, an organoid-based CRO replacing animal testing, won the grand prize; Bionsite, specializing in new drug target profiling using chemoproteomics technology, received the top excellence award; and ElexLab, a CRO/CDMO using Caenorhabditis elegans for animal alternative testing, earned the excellence award.
CEO Kwon Soon-min of SNS Lab concluded the event by expressing a strong ambition to become a company that plans and invests in the most necessary and beneficial programs for bio startups.
