Ministry of Health and Welfare Holds the '4th Social Service Policy Forum'

The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Central Social Service Agency held the 4th Social Service Policy Forum at the Central Social Service Agency on the 27th. The forum, held under the theme of 'The Convergence of Welfare Technology and Social Services,' consisted of two keynote presentations and discussions.


At the forum, public and private sectors came together to explore ways to introduce and utilize the latest technologies such as Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the social service field.


In the first session, Professor Yoo Jae-eon of Gachon University presented on the topic of 'Current Status of Welfare Technology and Directions for Activating the Use of Welfare Technology,' reviewing the domestic welfare technology industry status and overseas policy trends, and proposed measures to improve legal and institutional frameworks and strengthen policy support.


Professor Kim Su-wan of Kangnam University diagnosed the current status of welfare technology utilization in local communities under the theme 'Welfare Technology Encountered by Citizens in Local Communities: Where Have We Come and Where Should We Go?'


In the second session, Professor Park Young-ran of Kangnam University (chair), Kwon Min-jung, Director of the Social Service Project Division at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Kim Woo-sun, Team Leader at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, Moon Jeon-il, CEO of Robocare, and Choi Hyun-soo, Research Fellow at the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, participated to discuss ways to activate the use of welfare technology in the social service sector.


Kim Hye-jin, Social Service Policy Officer at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, stated, "The importance of utilizing welfare technology is increasing to enhance service quality and improve the efficiency of service delivery for the advancement of social services," adding, "Based on the opinions discussed today, we will actively seek support measures to ensure that private sector creativity and innovative technologies are utilized in the field and lead to changes that citizens can experience."
