Pukyong National University and Busan Humanities Alliance Hold "Visiting Marine Humanities" Event

The Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group at Pukyong National University will conduct the humanities program for citizens, "2023 Pukyong Visiting Maritime Humanities," eight times from September to November.


Under the theme "Seeing the Future of the Region in Busan, Embracing History and Tradition," this program was prepared to provide citizens with an opportunity to explore the history and tradition embedded in Busan.


Planned by the Pukyong University HK+ Project Group and the Busan Humanities Coalition, this program offers a humanities experience where experts who have long continued education and research in the Busan area seek the value of the future from Busan's past.


On the 7th and 14th of last month, Jin Seon-hye, a Busan cultural tourism guide, and Kang Tae-in, a cultural tourism advisory committee member of Yeongdo-gu, conducted programs in Amidong Biseok Village and Yeongdo-gu under the themes "1023 Refuge Capital World Heritage? The Story of Hope Blooming in Amidong Biseok Refuge Residential Area" and "The Story of the Introduction of Yeongdo Jonaegi Sweet Potato," respectively.

On October 5th, Lee Sang-guk, a specialist at Dong-gu Cultural Center, will lead "Exploring the Historical Site of Jwacheon-dong"; on the 12th, Song Myeong-ok, a cultural tourism guide of Buk-gu, will conduct "Walking the Barrier-Free Forest Trail of Beombangsan"; and on the 18th, Kim Mi-ja, a Busan architectural culture guide, will present "The Old Future and Centum City?Tradition, Value, and Maritime Tourism."


Following that, on November 2nd, Heo Tae-geun, a lecturer in the Department of History at Pukyong National University, will lead "From Pukyong University Walker House to the UN Memorial Park"; on the 9th, "Refuge School and Bookstore Alley Traditional Culture Street"; and on the 16th, Kwon Young-joo, CEO of YK Education Development Institute, will conduct "Exploring the History and Culture of Sosan Station and Jangwon Geupje-gil."
