Awareness of Gapjil and Creating an Honest Public Service Society
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 26th that it conducted integrity education for over 200 employees, including senior public officials, at the county office's large conference room.
In this education session, County Governor Gu In-mo personally served as the instructor, introducing the code of conduct for public officials to eradicate abuse of power and the main criteria for judging such abuse. He emphasized that senior public officials should take the lead in raising awareness about abuse of power and fostering an honest public service community.
Following this, Bae Jeong-ae, director of the Eoullim Education Development Institute and a specialist in integrity education, conducted a one-hour session under the theme "Integrity is the Key to Organizational Success." She explained topics such as ▲understanding the Anti-Graft Act ▲cases of punishment for improper solicitation ▲behavioral standards of the public officials' code of conduct ▲and prevention of abuse of power, using real-life examples, which received positive responses from the employees.
Governor Gu said, "I hope this education will serve as an opportunity for the organization to grow healthier through trusting communication and consideration among employees," adding, "We will continue to conduct integrity education to foster a mature and sound organizational culture."
