Judo national team member Park Eun-song (24, Donghae City Hall) won a valuable bronze medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

On the 25th, Park Eun-song defeated Altan Seseg Batchuk of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by penalty victory after an overtime (golden score) battle in the women's 57kg bronze medal match held at the Linpu Gymnasium in Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China.

During the regular 4-minute match, both athletes exchanged one penalty each, resulting in no winner and leading to overtime. At 38 seconds into overtime, Park attempted a seoi-nage (shoulder throw) technique but it was unsuccessful.

Park then launched another attack, earning one penalty against her opponent, and continued to pressure Altan Seseg with repeated seoi-nage attempts.

After a long overtime battle lasting 3 minutes and 22 seconds, Altan Seseg Batchuk committed a penalty for avoiding a grip, and Park Eun-song ultimately secured the bronze medal. Upon confirming her victory, Park was seen shedding tears.

Park first donned the Taeguk mark in 2017 but struggled with injuries and did not shine in international competitions. However, after recovering from injuries, she began to make a name for herself by winning a bronze medal at the 2022 Almada Grand Prix, and she stood on the podium again by winning bronze at this tournament.
