NHN Establishes New Office 'NHN Atelier' for Its Japan Corporation

On the 25th, NHN announced that it has established a new headquarters, 'NHN Atelier,' in Tokyo, Japan, for its Japanese corporate group, aiming to expand its business in Japan and improve work efficiency.

The NHN Japan corporate group consists of NHN Japan, which oversees the Japanese subsidiaries; NHN PlayArt, which develops and operates mobile games; NHN Comico, which provides the webtoon service 'Comico'; and NHN Tecolors, responsible for IT infrastructure solutions. A total of approximately 670 employees work across these companies.

All group companies will move into the new NHN Atelier headquarters and work within the same space. In addition to workspaces, welfare benefits have been enhanced by providing facilities such as a caf? and library for employees, as well as a gym.

NHN Atelier was established as a 13-story building in Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan. The building was designed by architect Kengo Kuma, who has been responsible for designing numerous famous structures, including the Japan National Stadium. Graphic designer Kenya Hara, known as the art director of Muji, participated in designing the logo, which serves as the face of the building.

Hyunsik Ahn, CEO of NHN Japan, stated, "This is the first self-owned headquarters established since NHN entered Japan by launching Hangame Japan in 2000. As our Japanese business, which started with Hangame, has expanded beyond games to include webtoons and cloud services, and as the need arose to secure a stable space to accommodate many employees, we decided to establish this new headquarters."
