Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Institute, Pyeongtaek Port Authority and 3 Others 'ESG Consulting'

Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Institute, Pyeongtaek Port Authority and 3 Others 'ESG Consulting' Gyeonggi Social Economy Center recently held a kickoff ceremony for public institution ESG management consulting.

The Gyeonggi-do Social Economy Center will select three public institutions in Gyeonggi-do to provide customized consulting aimed at strengthening Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management.


At the end of August, the Social Economy Center announced on the 25th that through a public contest targeting public institutions in the province and 31 city and county public institutions, it has finally selected three public institutions?Gyeonggi-do Social Service Institute, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority, and Gyeonggi Technopark?as recipients of the customized consulting.


Through this consulting, the Social Economy Center will assess the ESG management level of the public institutions and propose initiatives to strengthen ESG management. These initiatives will also include discovering cooperation models with social economy organizations tailored to the characteristics of each institution.


Examples of cooperation between public institutions and social economy organizations include, in the environmental sector (E), promoting eco-friendly transportation, reducing waste, and practicing carbon neutrality through recycling; and in the social sector (S), enhancing care for socially vulnerable groups such as persons with disabilities and strengthening social safety nets, thereby improving overall social welfare and reinforcing the social responsibility of public institutions.


The Social Economy Center will recruit social economy organizations to collaborate with public institutions during September and October. Multiple matches between public institutions and social economy organizations are possible, and case presentations on cooperation models will be held through a performance-sharing meeting.


Yu Hoon, Director of the Social Economy Center, stated, "Through the ESG consulting project, we will discover win-win cooperation models between participating public institutions and social economy organizations."
