Do Your Chuseok Holiday Grocery Shopping at the Seocho Direct Market

Seochos Direct Market in Seocho-gu, Seoul, known for its high popularity due to excellent local specialty product sales, is returning with an even more abundant market for Chuseok.

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) will hold the "Chuseok Seochos Direct Big Market" for two days from the 25th to the 26th at the district office plaza and the nearby Music Walkway.

A total of 23 organizations, including sister cities, and about 50 farms will participate in this market.

In particular, Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province, which signed a business agreement with the district in March this year, will participate in the direct market for the first time as a friendly city, showcasing representative specialties such as rice, rice processed products, sweet potatoes, and peanuts.

Additionally, about 200 major items will be sold, including ▲Mosip Leaf Jeotgal and Sogokhwaju from Seocheon-gun, Chungnam ▲Brown Rice Puff from Icheon-si, Gyeonggi ▲Hangwa and apples from Yesan-gun, Chungnam ▲Korean beef and pork, sesame oil, glutinous rice from Cheongyang-gun, Chungnam ▲Dangjin Bugak from Chungnam ▲Garlic from Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk ▲Doenjang and Sikhye from Nonsan-si, Chungnam ▲Onions and potatoes from Taean-gun, Chungnam ▲Honey and dried persimmons from Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam ▲Jangnoesam and shiitake powder from Hoengseong-gun ▲Pears and dried chili peppers from Naju-si, Jeonnam ▲Mushrooms from Goesan-gun, Chungbuk ▲Gangjeong, rice cakes, dried yellow corvina, and grains from Nam Seoul Nonghyup ▲Food, fruits, and vegetables from Yeongdong Nonghyup ▲Fruits and rice cakes from Maljukgeori Shopping Street.

Near the market, folk game events such as Yutnori and Tuho throwing, as well as nostalgic lottery events, are prepared to celebrate the Chuseok holiday.

The market operating hours are from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

The district expects that this market will help reduce residents' shopping concerns with high-quality products and promote the consumption of excellent Korean agricultural products.

Meanwhile, the "Seochos Direct Big Market" has been reopened since August last year and is the only market in Seoul's autonomous districts held twice a month (on the 2nd and 4th Thursday and Friday).

Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, "I hope this Chuseok Direct Big Market will help everyone prepare for the upcoming Chuseok joyfully and meaningfully."
