18th Asia Construction Awards
DK Asia, Hyundai Construction, and POSCO E&C Receive Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award

Asia Economy held the '18th Asia Construction Comprehensive Awards' event at the Korea Press Center on the 21st and selected and announced the glorious winners who shone in the construction industry this year.

At this year's Asia Construction Comprehensive Awards, DK Asia, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and POSCO E&C received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award. DL E&C and SK Ecoplant received the Seoul Metropolitan Mayor Award, while Daewoo E&C and Hyundai Engineering received the Overseas Construction Association President Award, respectively.


Eight companies including GH Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Corporation, GS Engineering & Construction, HDC Hyundai Development Company, Kumho Construction, Hanwha Construction, Doosan Construction, Booyoung Housing, and Ssangyong Construction were selected for the Asia Economy sector awards.


Kim Oh-jin, the 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said in his congratulatory speech, "Since last year, the construction industry has faced severe difficulties due to the triple hardships of high interest rates, high prices, and high exchange rates. The government and construction workers must join forces to overcome this." He added, "We plan to announce measures to revitalize housing supply before Chuseok, and we ask the construction industry to join the government's efforts to ensure that quality housing is smoothly supplied in locations desired by the public."


He continued, "We must realize a second Middle East boom and leap forward again as one of the four major overseas construction powers," emphasizing, " It is necessary to strategically pursue orders for overseas mega projects such as Saudi Arabia's NEOM City and Ukraine reconstruction to elevate the status of K-Construction."


Vice Minister Kim said, "Recently, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's One Team Korea was dispatched to Ukraine, announced six key projects to be promoted, and established a network for participation in reconstruction," adding, "The government will support our companies vigorously in diplomacy, finance, and investment to facilitate active advancement."
