Gyeonggi Province is hosting a 'Child Abuse Prevention Contest' for kindergarten and elementary school students.
On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will hold the '3rd Uri Aiji Kim Content Contest' until October 23 to encourage public interest in child abuse prevention and to spread social responsibility awareness.
This contest is themed "Adults feel good/upset when they say, act, or express like this," reflecting child abuse and child rights sensitivity from the child's perspective.
The contest is open to children in the province born between 2017 and 2019 and elementary school students, with categories including drawings (thematic) and posters.
Applications can be submitted via email (kids@gwff.kr), and detailed information and application forms can be found on the Gyeonggi-do Women and Family Foundation website or the 'Gyeonggi-do Integrated Contest' section on the Gyeonggi Province website.
The judging process consists of a first round of document screening and a second round of selection by a judging panel, considering creativity, significance, expression technique, and completeness.
Gyeonggi Province will select a total of 20 works and award certificates from the Governor of Gyeonggi Province. The selected works will be exhibited at Gyeonggi Provincial Office, Gyeonggi Human Resources Development Institute, and other venues during Child Abuse Prevention Week in November.
Yoo So-jeong, Director of the Child Care Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The most important thing in preventing child abuse is raising awareness and sensitivity to children's rights around us," adding, "We hope this contest will serve as an opportunity to feel child abuse from the child's perspective and to spread a sense of responsibility in our society."
