The government is conducting an event that refunds up to 40% of purchases made at traditional markets with Onnuri gift certificates to stabilize prices of agricultural and livestock products.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 20th that, together with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, it will hold the "Chuseok Traditional Market Onnuri Gift Certificate On-site Refund Event" from the 21st to the 27th.

This event refunds up to 30-40% of the purchase amount of domestic fresh agricultural, livestock, and marine products on the same day with Onnuri gift certificates. A total of 145 traditional markets selected jointly by the National Federation of Merchants and local governments will participate.

If you present a receipt for the purchase of domestic fresh agricultural, livestock, or marine products at the event booth located inside the market, you can receive Onnuri gift certificates according to the purchase amount. For agricultural and livestock products, if you purchase between 34,000 KRW and less than 67,000 KRW, you will be refunded a 10,000 KRW Onnuri gift certificate; if you purchase 67,000 KRW or more, you will receive a 20,000 KRW certificate. The refund rate is higher for marine products. If you purchase between 25,000 KRW and less than 50,000 KRW, you will receive a 10,000 KRW certificate; if you purchase 50,000 KRW or more, you will receive a 20,000 KRW certificate.

The government expanded the number of participating traditional markets to 145 this Chuseok, up from 100 during this year's Seol holiday, so that more citizens can benefit. In addition, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has been conducting daily Onnuri gift certificate refund events at 30 traditional markets nationwide since the 15th.

Kim Jong-gu, Director of Distribution and Consumer Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, said, "We hope this event will help reduce the financial burden on citizens visiting traditional markets for their Chuseok table settings," adding, "The government will monitor the supply and demand of major agricultural and livestock products such as seasonal goods and strive to stabilize livelihoods by alleviating the burden of grocery prices."
