Dobong-gu Hosts the First Hydrogen Charging Station in Seoul's Northeastern Area

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) has established the first hydrogen refueling station in the northeastern area of Seoul.

Accordingly, it is expected that the charging accessibility for hydrogen vehicle users in adjacent areas of Dobong-gu, such as Uijeongbu, Nowon, and Gangbuk, centered around National Route 3, will be greatly improved.

The Dobong Hydrogen Refueling Station was built at 377 Dobong-dong, Dobong-gu, and after a pilot operation from September 15 to October 5, it will begin commercial operation on October 6. Operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., which will remain the same during the pilot operation period.

The station can charge up to 7 vehicles per hour, allowing about 50 vehicles to be charged daily, and it takes approximately 10 minutes to fully charge 5kg of hydrogen.

Hydrogen vehicle users can make reservations and use the station through the hydrogen refueling station information app 'Hying,' and the hydrogen sales price is about 100,500 KRW per kg. Charging fees are free during the pilot operation period.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “With the establishment of the first hydrogen refueling station in the northeastern area of Seoul, we expect a significant improvement in convenience for hydrogen vehicle users,” and added, “We will actively work to promote hydrogen vehicles, which are eco-friendly, along with the establishment of the refueling station.”

The Dobong Hydrogen Refueling Station was completed about 10 months after groundbreaking in November 2022, following its selection in 2021 as a Ministry of Environment public project by the private company Cheonghwa Resources (CEO Jang Young-ja).

The completion ceremony was held on the 12th, and on that day, Cheonghwa Resources, the operator of the Dobong Hydrogen Refueling Station, commemorated the ceremony by donating 50 bags of 10kg rice and 50 rice wreaths received instead of disposable flower wreaths to Dobong-gu Office. The donated items will be delivered to vulnerable households with difficult living conditions in the Dobong-gu area ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
